Melanie GreyAn experienced and committed English tutor with four years experience in teaching English as a second language - she taught Business English at Mercedes Benz and Sunrise Communications in Zürich. She freelances as a private tutor, an English editor, translator and proofreader for Innovista Advertising, Hannover, Germany. She has two years experience in lecturing English for Economics at Hannover University. Her previous employment was in business feature writing, editing and brochure design for a variety of business publications. She also has commercial experience in project and account management, and marketing for the private sector. Melanie's mother tongue is English, with reasonable spoken French and excellent German.

From 2005 – 2006, she was a Lecturer in English for economics at Applied Languages Centre, Leibnitz University, Hannover. She provided compilation, teaching and final assessment of the English language section of the economics degree curriculum. Core focus on the learning and subsequent use of business/economics vocabulary through discussion of newspaper and business journal articles, the internet, in-class presentations, role play, interpretation and essay writing. From 2002 - 2004, she was the Copywriter/web writer for the English Shop, Cologne, Germany. She produced preparatory design and writing of first on-line shopping web site for The English Shop. She also provided the retail direct marketing literature and business proposals.

2004 she was the Features writer for monthly English Business/Tourist magazine Rhine Magazine, Cologne, Germany.

Melanie worked for Canvas Holidays Ltd, Dunfermline, Scotland, UK’s 2nd largest operator of European self drive camping and mobile home holidays. In 2002 she was the Press and PR consultant, responsible to Marketing Director for all UK press and PR requirements in liaison with PR agency. Additional provision of press and PR material to media in Ireland. Ad hoc direct marketing and press requirements. From 2001 - 2002 she was Copywriter/Editor of the main holiday brochure, responsible for design and typesetting of 55 walking and cycling guides for Canvas Holiday customers in Europe. She did the writing, editing and typesetting of the company’s marketing requirements.

From 1999 - 2000 Melanie was consultant editor and features writer for Catchline PR and Communications; Kirkcaldy, Scotland; Editions Ltd, Edinburgh, Scotland; and Fisheries Research Services, Aberdeen, Scotland.

From 1996 - 1999 she worked for Special Publications, Oban Times Ltd, Scotland, publisher of a trio of UK specialist marine magazines and a lifestyle magazine. As an Advertising Executive/Marketing Planner, she took on the lead role in re-launch of monthly UK Fisheries magazine - circulation 40,000. Editor of Scottish Fish Farmer Magazine, and was accountable for the entire magazine life cycle including desk and field news reporting, feature writing and preparatory design of 24 page monthly magazine. Close communication with design agency and printers. Ongoing business development initiatives with UK marine community. Press Scan Ltd, Press Cuttings Agency, Edinburgh, Scotland, where she did research and extraction of articles from national press for UK client base.
